Q. Do you provide wedding day makeup + hair services on-location?
A. Yes, Flawless Cosmetic Design is mobile, and can provide makeup + hair services at your venue, hotel, or home. Affording you a luxury service in the comfort of your own space.
Q: Do you provide makeup + hair for events other than weddings?
A. Flawless Cosmetic Design offers makeup + hair services for a variety of events. Such as: print/commercial, engagements, proms, senior pictures, private makeup lessons, and more.
Q. Do you offer partial makeup or hair services?
A. Flawless Cosmetic Design does not offer partial services. As without doing a complete makeup + hair application, we cannot guarantee the look will be cohesive with the look you are envisioning for your special day.
Q. What makeup + hair products do you use?
A. Flawless Cosmetic Design uses a very wide range of professional makeup products. All of which have been tested for efficacy, longevity, sensitivity and overall performance. To list a few brands, Graftobian, Kett, Temptu (Airbrush), Nars, MAC, Channel, Tom Ford, Lancome, Clinique, Smasbox, Laura Mercier, Liopai, MUFE, Bobbi Brown, BECCA, LORAC, Urban Decay and many more. No true professional makeup artist or hairstylist carries only one line of makeup in their kit. All of our hairstylists use a variety of luxury hair products ranging from Kenra, Osis+, Redken, Moroccon Oil, Silouhette
Q. Can I use my own makeup + hair products?
A. Yes. Providing it is in unopened/unused and in its original packaging. Please note however, we cannot guarantee all of the following: How it will photograph in all the various settings. For example, outdoor direct sunlight, indoor with flash, in the dim light of your venue, or on video. If it will flash back in photography. If your makeup is formulated for the highly pix-elated lenses of today’s cameras and video. If your foundation is the correct shade or formula for your skin type. How long your makeup will last, depending on the formulas. All of which I can guarantee with the professional tried and tested products. The same goes for hair products. All of our stylists use quality styling products that stand up to all of the elements of a wedding and are long lasting.
Q. Do you offer Airbrush makeup application?
A. Yes, you have the option of both Traditional and Airbrush makeup applications. A detailed description on the benefits of airbrush can be found on our Services page.
Q. Do you offer a bridal makeup + hair preview?
A. Previews are required for all brides. Arriving at the perfect look for your wedding day is a detailed 90 minutes to 2-hour appointment. One that would be stressful for all involved if the preview were not scheduled, and if there were to be any miscommunication on the day about the look you are wanting to achieve. Hair previews are scheduled per stylists availability.
Q. When should I schedule my makeup + hair preview?
A. Given that all clients are destination brides, when to schedule your makeup + hair preview depends on several factors. 1) When and how many times will you be in the area. 2) How far are you travelling from 3) Can you schedule a trip specifically for your preview 4) Will you need to try and schedule the preview around other appointments, such as meeting with your photographer, florist, venue etc.
With all these variables, our greatest recommendation is to allow yourself plenty of time and multiple date options if possible. As there are often unforeseen circumstances that can arise, warranting the need to re-schedule.
Q. Do I come to you for my makeup + hair preview?
A. All makeup previews are done in the Londonderry Vermont studio. Hair previews are as provided at the location specified by each individual hair stylists.
Q. What do you require to secure an event date?
A. All services are booked on a first come, first serve basis. For makeup, and inn order to secure your date, a signed services agreement, and a 50% non-refundable, non transferrable retainer of the full agreement amount. Your date will be reserved upon receipt of both the agreement and non-refundable, non transferrable retainer. The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date or service. For hair services, contract policies vary per stylist.
Q. Do you offer discounted packages?
A. No, discounted packages are not offered. Given makeup + hair services are in very high demand, and we receive multiple inquires for the same wedding dates, and we typically book anywhere from 12 to 24 months in advance. All of which leads us to sadly turn away many clients due to non-availability.
Q. My wedding/event is over a year away, when should I consider booking makeup + hair services?
A. We are currently booking up to 2 years in advance, and therefore encourage serious inquires to secure their dates early.
Q. Why do I need to hire a professional makeup + hair artist for my wedding or special event?
A. Very good question. You are hiring a professional photographer to take pictures of your wedding day. These pictures will tell the story of that day. They will be images you will be looking at for many years to come. You do not want to have any regrets. On the technical end of things, a skilled seasoned professional makeup + hair artist has knowledge of lighting, what the appropriate makeup + hair is for your style…what is the best makeup choice for the time of day your wedding will be, proper application, and technique for a flawless appearance in both photographs and on video. Professional products used for both makeup + hair are guaranteed to last all day and all night. Proper application for your unique facial architecture, so as to enhance your natural beauty and have you looking your absolute best in those photos and on video.
Q. Can you do large bridal parties?
A. Yes, absolutely.
Q. How long does it take you to do everyone’s makeup + hair?
A. We schedule an hour for the bride and 20/30 minutes per person thereafter for makeup. Hair is typically 60-90 minutes for bride, and 30-45 minutes for attendees.
Q. Which is done first, hair or makeup?
A. Hair is scheduled before makeup.
Q. Do you help to make out the makeup + hair timeline for the wedding day?
A. Definitely. Having your day be a seamless experience is my overarching goal. We make every effort to ensure that you have very little to think about with regards to the schedule of services on your wedding day. Upon learning what time you wish to be complete with makeup, We create a makeup + hair timeline to reflect that ready by time. The timeline will then be forwarded to you in order to assign appointment times to each of the clients receiving makeup + hair services. This will ensure that everyone knows where to be and when. Allowing for an easy transition from hair to makeup, and ultimately having you, our bride, ready for your next step. First look, pre-ceremony photos or right on to the ceremony.
Q. What do you need for make up + hair set up on the wedding day?
A. The only things need for makeup + hair set up are some direct day light and adequate space and air conditioned environments are always recommended. We come fully self-contained. With pro-lighting, folding tables and pro-director- chairs. It is our goal for you to have little to nothing to worry about on the day.
Q. Do you stay for touch ups.
A. For parties of 7 or more, it is required that you have makeup stay for a minimum of 30 minutes for touch ups. For larger parties, it is our recommendation to schedule an hour for touch ups, should time permit. This is necessary, as all ladies who had their makeup done early will have eaten, brushed their teeth and will need their lipstick reapplied before photos. From there, it is advised that all ladies receiving makeup with to have a favorite lipstick + powder compact for touch up’s throughout the rest of the evening. Recommendations for hair touch ups is also recommended and scheduled in accordance with each individual hairstylists preferences.
In the event you wish for makeup + hair to stay for a longer period to offer touch-ups, for example, after first look, pictures and right up to the ceremony, this service is booked in advance, depending on my availability, and is billed seperately.
Q. Can you leave and come back for touch ups.
A. No. Intermittent services are not provided.
